If you like me, you may accidently delete your SSP web site.
So you will have to restore the old ssp or create a new one and associated the web sites to it.

This is probably the easiest way. Open a command prompt and type
NET STOP “Windows SharePoint Services Timer Service”
NET START “Windows SharePoint Services Timer Service”
After your done and the SSP finishes “Provisioning”,
